Abstract Submission Guidelines
  • Abstract Submission Opens: May 1st, 2024 at 00:01 AM
  • Abstract Submission Closes: June 15th, 2024 at 11:59 PM
*There will be no extension of the deadline.

OPAI membership is mandatory for the presenting author to submit an abstract. Non-members can submit their OPAI membership form, pay the membership fee and then submit an abstract. Details of OPAI membership process and the membership form are available at the link http://www.opai.in/membership-form Note: Each OPAI member can submit one abstract in each admissible category as a presenting author Prior award winners should not submit again as first authors in the same award session.

General Guidelines
  • Abstract should have a title limited to 200 characters including spaces. DO NOT exceed the limit.
  • Abstract should be limited to 1500 characters including spaces. DO NOT exceed the limit
  • Abstract submission Categories 1-6 ; Abstracts should be formatted under the headings - Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion for Papers, Posters and Cases
  • Abstract submission Categories 7-8 ; Abstracts should be formatted under the headings – Purpose, Synopsis and Google Drive Link (Video film or the Photograph must be uploaded on a personal Google drive and a link with unrestricted access should be provided as part of the abstract) for Videos and Photographs.
  • Co-authors (excluding the presenting author) should not exceed 5. Please provide unique email ID and mobile number for each co-author.
  • Each abstract should be submitted in a separate Google form online.
  • A presenting author can submit a maximum of two abstracts under each admissible category.
  • Expert judges may accept the abstracts in a category different from the one submitted as appropriate- for example, an abstract submitted for a Paper may be acceptable as a Poster, or a Poster abstract may me more appropriate as a Case and vice versa.
  • Prior award winners should not submit again as first authors in the same session.
Abstracts will be accepted for the following categories:
  • OPAI BEST FREE PAPER AWARD SESSION FOR THE YOUNG OCULOPLASTIC SURGEON: Unpublished Original Free Paper in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology, work done in India, presented by an OPAI member <40 years as on December 31, 2024
  • OPAI BEST FREE PAPER AWARD SESSION (EXCLUDING ORBIT): Unpublished Original Free Paper in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology, work done in India, presented by an OPAI member.
  • OPAI BEST FREE PAPER AWARD (ORBIT) SESSION: Unpublished Original Free Paper in Orbit and related Oncology and Pathology, work done in India, presented by an OPAI member.
  • OPAI NON-COMPETITIVE FREE PAPER SESSION: Unpublished Original Free Paper in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology, work done anywhere, presented by an OPAI member.
  • OPAI BEST SCIENTIFIC POSTER AWARD SESSION: Scientific Poster, Unpublished Original Work in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology, work done in India, presented by an OPAI member. Posters may be Physical or ePoster (will be informed at the time of selection) and may have a brief component of podium presentation.
  • BEST CASE PRESENTATION AWARD SESSION: Unpublished Original Case in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology, work done in India, presented by an OPAI member.
  • OPAI BEST VIDEO AWARD SESSION: Video Film, Unpublished Original Work in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology, work done in India, presented by an OPAI member. The duration of the video film should be limited to 8 minutes and must have a voice-over. Background music should be copyright-free. The Video film must be uploaded on a personal Google drive and a link with unrestricted access should be provided as part of the abstract.
  • OPAI BEST PHOTOGRAPH AWARD: Photograph of exceptional quality and creativity, Original, Unpublished in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology, work done in India, presented by an OPAI member. Specific categories are: a. Face, 2. Eyelids, 3. Ocular Surface, 4. Intraocular Tumors, 5. Orbit, 6. Lacrimal, 7. Imaging, 8. Creative. Please mention the specific image category in the abstract. A high-resolution photograph must be uploaded on a personal Google drive and a link with unrestricted access should be provided as part of the abstract.
